USB Port Not Working: The Complete Fix

Most dead USB ports are software, not hardware. A restart resets the USB controllers and fixes the largest share of cases.

1. Try another port and device

2. Reset the controller

Open Device Manager → Universal Serial Bus controllers. If there's a yellow warning, right-click → Uninstall device, then Action → Scan for hardware changes to reinstall.
