Screen Flickering: The Complete Fix

Flickering is almost always a cable, a refresh-rate mismatch, or a driver — in that order of likelihood.
Flickers during scrolling or gaming
Set the refresh rate to the monitor's native value: Settings â System â Display â Advanced display. If you have "variable refresh rate" enabled, LED-backlit panels can strobe — try turning it off. Update the graphics driver next.
Constant flicker or blackouts
The cable is the #1 suspect. Swap it, reseat both ends, and try a different GPU port (prefer the graphics card ports, not the motherboard's). Test the monitor on another computer to isolate the fault.
Laptop flickers at certain angles
Angle-dependent flicker means a damaged display cable in the hinge. Update the driver first (free), then connect an external monitor — if that's stable, the laptop's panel or cable needs repair.
